CFE Hrvatska Zora

Wherever Croats have gone, they kept their culture alive through folk songs and dance. This simply put is the reason for the existance of CFE Hrvatska Zora. Ensemble was established in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1974. Consistently backed by the live tamburica orchestra, Zora embodies the flavorful aspects of Croatian music, song, costume and dance. With God's blessings CFE Hrvatska Zora will continue to maintain and foster the Croatian cultural heritage within the great Canadian mosaic for generations to come.

Groups

The CFE Hrvatska Zora JUNIOR group are the youngest and by far the cutest dancers of the ensemble. Performing at various functions for the Croatian community in Winnipeg and Folklorama, this energetic bunch of youngsters can't help but warm your heart and bring a smile to your face, as you watch them dance and sing. Enthusiastic performances of this group, ensure us Hrvatska Zora will continue entertaining audiences for years to come.

The CFE Hrvatska Zora INTERMEDIATE group are the transition between the junior and senior performers. This adolescent gathering between 11 and 16 years of age are an eager and energetic bunch. Learning slightly more intricate stepping and choreographies to prepare them for the senior group, they perform at various Croatian functions in Winnipeg and festival in Manitoba. All of these lead to the main perofmarnces for this group at Winnipeg's Folklorama (a two week ling celebration of various cultures).

The CFE Hrvatska Zora ALUMNI is a group of former and older performers still young at heart. The members of this ensemble consist of performers from Hrvatska Zora inception in 1974. to the present day.

The CFE Hrvatska Zora TAMBURICA is the most recent addition to Winnipeg's long standing tradition of tamburica orchestras. Being at least the sixth generation of "tamburasi" in Winnipeg, this group of musicians made their debut in 2003. With 13 members strong they are well on their way to gteat accomplishments. Performing throughout the city of Winnipeg at community functions, weddings and Folk Arts Council of Winnipeg events this generation of tamburasi are sure to continue spreading the beauty and diversity of these Croatian instruments.
